Gaffs
Press Association:
"Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles has officially apologised for being cunt. The 34-year-old DJ prompted complaints after listeners collectively realised he is an annoying twat. Moyles said he did not intend to be a cunt, it just kind of happened.

"In related news John Barrowman has apologised for loving himself too much. He admitted he had "taken it a step too far" and would try to by more objective in future."

In my dreams.

Wee Have Also Sound-Houses
Did anyone catch the Daphne Oram documentary on Radio 3 last month?

"Fifty years after the creation of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the programme examines the life and legacy of one of the great pioneers of British electronic music - the Workshop's co-founder Daphne Oram."

I didn't know about it until I spotted a review in the Observer (alongside a photograph of Delia Derbyshire incorrectly credited as being Oram).
I'd love to hear it if anyone can find a recording.

In return, here is a scan of her book, An Individual Note of music sound and electronics.

Thanks.

I will be guest gusseting on Juxtaposeur's Skip to the End radio show this evening, 9-11pm, BST. (That's 10-12 GMT btw)

From the mailing list:
"My second Skip to the End radio show is this Thursday at 9pm.
Expect:
1 - nervousness before my special guest arrives.
2 - neo-geek talk about music and technology.
3 - cheesecore goodness.
4 - a 30min mix from my guest.
Listen to it at Beat-Boot-ique.co.uk/
or on my actual Skip to the End webpage.
+ send me requests (for me to ignore) or send me a message via the chat room or email.
Hope you can join me."

My 30min mix is ready and I'm very excited about it. A lovely collection of electronic classics, prog goodness, radiophonic weirdness, kids TV, Indonesian pop, noisecore, and brass bands. What more could you ask for? Hope you can listen in!

Any Requests?
As I mentioned on Friday I've been asked to guest on the Skip to the End radio show later this month. It'll be live on online from 9 to 11 pm (BST) on Thursday 27th September, and available to download shortly afterwards.

Among my duties for this, as well as providing inane rambling conversation obviously, will be to provide a 30min mix. I've decided to take requests, so if there's anything you'd like to hear, please drop a comment below or email me if you have any suggestions. Regular readers are particularly encouraged.
Requests so far are:
Kate Bush – Wuthering Heights (Mrs P)
Poddington Peas theme (Spokesy)
